Taylor classic Jelly and deep fry Thermometer

Strengths: Looks good construction, easy to handle; Seems accurate

Weakness: Panel ink is not durable. food stick very hard

I bought this thermometer from LNT ~10 bucks. I had read some great review of specific this item over internet. However, I am very disappointed with it. In only couple of times use, its temperature scale ink is disappear for 100C and around. I am surprised that they didn't quality assured this. Now since numbers on scale disappear, it is of no use. Taylor CLassic Candy, Jelly and Deep Fry Thermometer

Strengths: Clips to pan easily and conveniently

Weakness: Temperature marking durability

In my experience, a significant weakness of this thermometer is the durability of the temperature markings. The 1st time I used this thermometer for deep frying, some of the temperature numbers wiped off during cleaning. Now, I have to be very careful when cleaning to avoid wiping off the numbers that remain.

taylor candy thermometer

Strengths: clips to pan

Weakness: hard to clip to pandifficult to readnot accurate

i have used an older version ( mercury liquid) to make peanut brittle for years with good success. I bought th newversion last year, myfirst batch of brittle was carmelized. I checked it against old mercury therm and it was reading 30 degree F lower. I threw it away and continued to use old one even tho letters on it have faded. Would not buy this again.

WHAT CRUMMY QUALITY

Strengths: I liked the build of it.

Weakness: The numbers rub off!!!!Highly inconvenient on a thermometer! I am HUGELY ANNOYED that I now have to go out and buy a new thermometer.

I TRULY EXPECTED BETTER QUALITY THAN THIS. IT IS SHAMEFUL THAT AFTER ONLY A FEW USES THE NUMBERS WASH OFF! JUST TO BE CLEAR, I NEVER PUT THIS ITEM IN THE DISHWASHER; I ALWAYS LET IT COOL AND THEN HAND-WASHED AND AIR-DRIED IT. I AM ASKING FOR A NEW THERMOMETER THIS CHRISTMAS!

taylor candy thermometer

Strengths: it used to be awsome. used one for 20 years...replaced and the new ones are terrible

Weakness: not like it used to be.....i have had to replace it 5 times in a year.......it comes out to be ever other batch of candy i need a new thermometer...

not pleased at all.i wiped one of the thermometers with a soft cotton cloth when i took it out of the drawer and all the lettering came off.it was 3 months old and i used it aproximately 6 times. i must use 3 thermomters in a pot of candy because they never ever have the same temperature..when i get two of the three that are close then i figure my toffee is at the correct temperature. not at all...
