Strengths: easy to use, high back support, pre drilled for crown stops, easy to hold the gaurd up with thumb.
Weakness: you really need a stand with good support as you can see there is not much table to balance your wood on, and the vertical stop is like teflon or something witch has play in it ( at least mine does.
When my older saw (everything) got stolen around a year ago i bought this saw and take very good care of my tools.Unfortunally i had to pay $679.00.But i really like it,EXCEPT Trying to keep it true is really getting on my nerves, i took it to the shop today to get it fixed and they said that they will straiten it under warrenty nice of them but i still have to barrow another saw while waiting...

Unbelieveable Saw, Great Price

I couldn't justify spending $679.00 on this saw or any saw, as I don't use this tool daily. However with Lowe's having it on sale for $481.10 and Home Depot willing to meet that price AND beat it by another 10% AND include their promotion of another $75.00 off, I got the DW718 for $357.99. Then I noticed that the Ridgid Miter saw stand was 1/2 off at $99.00, so I got that too. This saw is GREAT....
