The smooth Convector Linecounter reel matched with the DepthMaster rod series make a great combo. An oversized gear box with XL gearing which provides 50% more drag surface, coupled with a self-lubricating gear system, makes the Convector series some of the smoothest operating reels in Okumas line. The Speed Loc Gearing System incorporates a dual-step pinion gear system on star drag reels for positive engagement at high speeds. This system also allows for instant gear engagement and hooksets from freespool. The ergonomic forged aluminum handle has unique oversized handle knob for comfort and easy handling when fighting a fish. All models include a light-weight, corrosionproof graphite body, a machined-aluminum spool, a graphite rod clamp, and two bearings plus one roller bearing. The linecounter accurately informs you just how much line is out. Gear ratio is 4.0:1 and the line capacity is 430 yards of 25-pound test. Our DepthMaster Trolling Series Rods not only feature a new look but have improved guides with stainless inserts to reduce overall rod weight and increase durability. The gloss-black blanks are still made of a durable graphite composite with just the right amount of flex and power for trolling. The wide variety of actions also cover most trolling applications.
