I do not have the this 180 model, but i do have the 140 model and I have been very happy with it. i am a industrial structural welder for a living so i am used to running some pretty hot welds, wasnt to sure about the pro 140 when i bought it, but i plugged it in and was amazed what this thing will do. i have put this thing to the test and have never tripped the overload on it. Welded on 3/16...

Unbelieveably Smooth welder
Strengths: Wonderful cast aluminum, double wheel drive deck, Smooth power - makes for less spatter, easy to tune to the work at hand, better than my old Hobart 180, for much less $$$$.
Weakness: Have not found any yet...
I have a small company that does metal work. I typically weld parts in the 18 gauge to 1/4" range. The chart inside the machine is a good baseline for beginners, but I normally run the machine one level hotter and faster. There is one part I weld that requires 6 - 2" long welds per part on 1/8" steel angle. That's a foot of weld per part. I max out the heat on the part and weld 50 to 75 parts in...
